A Visit to Portugal: Expanding Koy Knitwear

A Visit to Portugal: Expanding Koy Knitwear

Last year, we introduced knitwear to the Koy collection for the very first time. We hoped people would like it. We didn't expect the response we got.

So we're expanding it - and a few weeks ago, I flew out to Porto to see the new collection in the final stages of production.

Here's a short video of my journey:

A Day on the Factory Floor

Our quarter zip jumpers - the heart of the Koy knitwear collection - are crafted in Portugal, using premium Italian cashmere and merino wool, by a team who have been doing this for over 30 years and know exactly what they're doing. I spent the day with Susana and the rest of the team on the factory floor - watching the yarn being worked, the pattern-cutting, the sheer amount of care that goes into a single jumper before it ever reaches a customer. It's the kind of thing you can talk about in an email, but it's a different thing entirely to stand next to it.

That's what the film above is - a short, honest look at that visit. No script, no set-up. Just what it actually looks and feels like inside the place your knitwear comes from.

What's Coming This Autumn

This season, we're expanding our quarter zip jumper collection with two new fabrications, both making their debut in the Koy collection: a Cable Knit in a Merino Wool & Cashmere blend, and a 100% Merino Wool option. Made to the same standard, from the same mills, by the same hands.

If you'd like to be the first to see these new styles - lookout for the email in early September.

With warm wishes,

Jimmy
