KOY in the time of Corona...

KOY in the time of Corona...

First of all, our hearts go out to all those suffering from this horrible virus. We are very grateful that all of us at Koy, and our loved ones are currently healthy and in good spirits considering the crisis. Try and keep positive, keep smiling, stay at home and we will get through this together!

As for Koy Clothing…..

Those of you who know Koy as a brand may associate us with those great and famous British countryside events such as Badminton Horse Trials and Goodwood festival of Speed. You are correct, it is at such occasions where we appeared in the market and first started selling our products and sharing our unique story with the world.

Sadly, at this time of crisis our beloved events have unfortunately had to be cancelled or postponed (Until at least August), and therefore you may be forgiven for thinking that no events = no Koy.

It is certainly true that the lack of shows has created a significant challenge for the business. However, like any challenge in life we need to be positive, adapt and try to change threats into opportunities.

In the world of Koy, there is one obvious opportunity - ‘The World Wide Web…’

Online buying has been increasing in recent years across the globe (UK at the front of the trend), but realistically, clothing has mostly always been purchased in person, until now. Never in our history has there been such a need to purchase everything online in order to help save lives.

We at Koy have always seen our website as the future growth area of the company in the long term, and as such we invested heavily in our imagery, content and online customer shopping experience from day one, with the expectation that one day we would make the vast majority of sales through the site.

We never expected the day when we have to rely completely on our website to come so soon, but fortunately we are in a position to make it work. Yes, we have a significant loss of income without events/high street, but we are all about adapting to change. Fortunately, we are small and agile enough to amend our operations and streamline the business to an online only company, quickly and efficiently, at least temporarily.

In fact, we are excited about this and believe that this situation will encourage many people to buy online who have never done so before, thereby increasing their confidence and trust in the process. After trying our easy online experience, we are confident you may never feel the need to battle the busy high street ever again!

This change in consumer behaviour will further level the playing field and enable us small businesses to compete with the high street giants in the long run.

Fear not, our love affair with great British events is not over, and we will be back, as soon as it is safe to do so, and we look forward to seeing you all when this day comes.

But for now, stay safe, stay home, save lives.
