Co-founder 'Jimmy Scott' recently went to visit our belt workshop in Nairobi, Kenya. He spent some time with Maasai Mamas, learning their ways, their craft and their trade. He walked away with an inspiring story that we would like to share with you all...
Meet Janet (above), one of the original Maasai Mama’s to be working with our suppliers for over 20 years. It was amazing to spend some time with her, learning about her work, her family and the incredible art of Maasai beading. Although, after taking an embarrassing amount of time to bead just one line of beads, we will leave this job to the pros! 🤣
From Janet’s beadwork over the years, she helps her husband support their family of 7 children: including school fees, clothing, food, water and medical bills. She also supports her elderly parents!
It’s an incredible feeling to be a part of Janet’s inspiring story and we hope to be a part of many more in the years to come...
